Off the top of my head you ...Paul that is not true. Off the top of my head you can get a "union pay" debit card from any bank that can be used in any type of transactions from Harbin to Hainan including Hong Kong (you can't use it to book a hotel in Hong Kong but you can still pay with it)

No one walks around with that type of cash and you know I'm telling the truth. How do you fit that in a wallet? it's the size of a brick.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2826729905007632559.post-18121793047943323122008-12-20T13:32:00.000-05:002008-12-20T13:32:00.000-05:00I wasn't there in the 90's. My wife was not rich but she was quite upper middle class. She had plastic but much preferred cash.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06113425432867443970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2826729905007632559.post-87104663322237712902008-12-20T13:03:00.000-05:002008-12-20T13:03:00.000-05:00"back then", referring to the 90's. None of your comments make sense to me.

Yes, my wife had lots of cash when I visited her. Much of it was in US dollars. When we went shopping I often observed others with large amounts of cash as well.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06113425432867443970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2826729905007632559.post-83351578793928100632008-12-20T12:10:00.000-05:002008-12-20T12:10:00.000-05:00"Typically she was used to having a wallet full of..."Typically she was used to having a wallet full of cash - typically equivalent to $5,000US"

this would be a huge wad of cash as thick as a brick, over 40,000 rmb in 100yuan notes (the highest denomination)

No one back then, walked around with that sort of money.
